WOW! Are you kidding me?!!
Well, I just got my STG556 a couple weeks ago and it barely has the packing grease cleaned out of it. I noted the BHO wasn't working so I asked Dave in the Gunroom about it. I figured since I haven't shot it yet, that maybe it was just a break-in issue or possibly the mag. Dave was quick to offer some suggestions and I thought I'd just shoot it and see what happened. The BHO isn't all that big a deal to me as long as everything else worked.
Well low and behold, UPS shows up with a little box today from MSAR!? I had ordered some mags but wasn't expecting them yet. Inside the box was an entirely new trigger pack and an amber 42 rnd mag...... free! Awesome service! Haven't even shot the thing yet and I am already an MSAR fan ......especially after this outstanding show of customer loyalty!

when i purchase something brand new I expect it to work correctly.
I for one would not be raving about Panasonic if they had to repair my brand new Plasma that shit the bed after I set it up brand new out of the box.
Regardless if they sent it back with a spare remote.
My 2-Cents.

Your correct,
There is no denying it, you have to expect to have a few problems, and the likely hood of dealing with MSAR customer service after you bring your new STG home.

I think it's pretty good that even with no definite problem that MSAR went above and beyond to make sure that the OP was happy with their product. This is being proactive. If the OP had put a couple hundred rounds down range and the bolt hold open wasn't working, that's one thing. As it is, he's just finger banging it and the rifle probably needs to be broken in a bit.
Nothing to see here, nothing for you to crow about, move along now citizen...

True but, anything made by humans or by a machine can fail. Everything has some human touch applied to it. Could be made on a Friday afternoon or Monday Morning. Also could just be a burr or something.

I find it interesting that MSAR is drawn and quartered for saying that you should "break in" the rifle by firing a few hundred rounds and that such issues as bolt hold open catches, magazine releases, and easy of manipulation will sort themselves out, yet when it comes to a $2000-$3000 1911 from a custom shop, these things are taken as routine issues that shouldn't be complained about until the gun has at least 500-1000 rounds though it and even then it may not work properly unless you're using a magazine that happens to trip the bolt hold open and feed properly.
