Default How do you stop this?

I took my STG to the range today and it worked perfectly. However I did notice that the ejecting brass was scraping up the stock directly to the rear of the ejection port. Is there a way to stop this??

There is a velcro fix - I read about this on Ar15.com before I fired mine for the first time. I placed velcro on the area that would be affected.

(I had to do this in the ejection port of my PS90 years ago - so I was somewhat familiar with the concept)

Oh okay. So its normal for the gun to launch the brass that way and scar the stock. Hmm I'm off the home depot
Thanks

I got my velcro in the sewing dept of WalMart. Get the kind that sticks on by pealing the back off.

Yup. Look at any AUG that has some use and you'll see the character marks. It's a combat rifle, not a high-grade glossy-finished Weatherby. I use a piece of skateboard tape on mine:

MSAR E4 stocks have a textured area behind the ejection port. It doesn't prevent the marks, but it makes it so they aren't as noticeable.

If the ejected brass ever wears a hole through your stock give me a call and we will fix you right up! Those nicks are a sign of a good running rifle that is being shot.

Default Didn't bother...

It's not much worse that the marks on an AR case deflector.
I'll take Dave up on his offer if I ever shoot it enough to eat a hole in the stock...

Thanks,
Lee

I put some adhesive pile tape on my E4 after about 4 1/2K through her. There's a good melt spot, but I might get 2 pieces of a broken Magpul in FG and epoxy them there. I figure it'll be about 11K more rounds before it gets through both layers of those, plus another 6K to get through the stock itself. At least 3-4 years! Maybe then I'll ask for a replacement

I've five thousand through mine and they don't look like anything more than little rub marks / can your extractors be tuned at all?

I'd be surprised if anyone gets an actual HOLE from the brass...
